Obituary of Arthur Kelley DR

Dr. Arthur W. Kelley, 87, of Broadview Drive, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Monongalia General HospitalArthur was born in Robinson Twp.Pa on November 21, 1922, the son of the late George Washington Kelley and Fannie Obenour Kelley.He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II serving on the USS Alabama BB60.Dr. Kelley was a physician at the Mileground Medical Center from 1955 until his retirement in 1989 with 34 years of service. Before coming to Morgantown, he practiced in Point Marion, Pa for 3 years. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and was on the staff at Mon General Hospital.He is survived by his wife, M. Lois Kelley of 64 years his children, Cindy F. Martin and husband, Alan of Morgantown, Arthur E. Kelley and wife Vickie of Winston Salem, NC Rodney G. Kelley and wife Bonnie of Salem, WV and Jeffrey L. Kelley of Houston, Texas eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.Family and friends will be received at Calvary Baptist Church, Burroughs Street, Morgantown, on Friday, June 4 from 11:30a.m to 1:00p.m. Funeral services will be held in the church at 1:00p.m.with Pastor Doug Strother officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post 548 and WVANG Military Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson, Kingwood, WV at the cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dr. Arthur Kelleyâs memory to The Foundation of Monongalia General Hospital, 1200 J.
