Obituary of Charles Lemley SR

Charles Albert Lemley, 64, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his home.Born on August 30, 1945 in Core, WV he was the son of Lorene Ammons Lemley Priest and the late Roy Stanley Lemley.Charles was a 1967 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering. While at WV University, he went through ROTC and attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart during a tour in Viet Nam. After his discharge from the military, he was employed by Consolidation Coal Company for 18 years and while working there, he received an Associateâs Degree in Business from the West Virginia Business College. After moving to Myrtle Beach, he retired from Wyndham Resorts following ten years of service.Other than his mother of North Myrtle Beach, Charles is survived by his wife Dixie Lee Baker Lemley of Little River three sons, Michael Lemley and his wife Deni of Buhl, ID, Charles A. Lemley, Jr. and his fiancée Willow Nelson of Alma, WV, Bryan Lemley of Clarksburg, WV one brother, David Lemley and his wife Ruth of Jewett, OH two sisters, Jean Furman and her husband Glenn of Gainesville, VA, Lois Corbin and her husband, James of Morgantown, WV and four grandchildren, Devan and Dean Lemley and Kali and Colton Mead. He is predeceased by his step father, Charles Priest. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Thursday, April 15 from 12 - 1 PM. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday afternoon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
