Sharman Bly DeWeese, 59, of Cumming, GA, and formerly of Morgantown passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Arlington Hospital of Arlington, VA.Sharman was born in Clarksburg, WV on February 25, 1951, a daughter of Winfred C. âDustyâ and Patricia (Coleman) DeWeese of Morgantown.She was a graduate of Morgantown High School, Class of 1969 and the West Virginia Business College.Upon her graduation, she became employed by WVU Communications. She then moved to Fairfax, VA where her last place of employment was with the Kaiser Foundation in Washington, DC. After moving to the Atlanta, GA area, she became a Certified Meeting Professional and Senior Events Manager, working 16 years for Ciba Vision, a division of Novartis, where she was still employed at the time of her death.Sharman remained a true Mountaineer fan. She loved to read, travel and dance. She had been a member of the Virginia Chittum School of Dance in Morgantown, the Fairfax County Dance Group in Virginia and Cumming Dance Academy while in Georgia.In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two sisters, Deborah Ann Gooden of Washington, PA and Robin June McCarty and husband C. Gordon of Dataw Island, SC a nephew, Christopher M. Gooden of Washington, PA an uncle and aunt, Basil and Ruth DeWeese cousins Diane Appruzzese, Susan DeWeese and Jennifer Krinke all of Eberbach, Germany an aunt, Flora E. Bailey of Clarksburg, WV and a host of very special friends including Christy Cavallaro of Morgantown, Pam, Craig, Mark and Sarah Hendrickson all of Woodbridge, VA, Susan and Mark VanBuren of Cumming, GA, Linda Trooter of Duluth, GA and Audrey and Bill Manwell of Johns Creek, GA. Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, June and Loren Kennedy and Kenneth and Virginia Coleman paternal grandparents, C. Dewey DeWeese and Nellie Bly DeWeese, and two uncles, Robert DeWeese and Charles Bailey.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 4-7 PM and on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 1-5 PM. and again on Monday, April 12, 2010 from 9-10a.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 AM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell, WV.
