It was not until this morning that I learned of Pat's passing from staff at the Canaan Valley Refuge. I also knew her thru the Canaan Valley Alliance. She was truly great person and conservationist. The existence of the refuge today is a testament to her love of nature. Hopefully her family knows that part of her legacy lives on in the floor of the valley.

Jean and I would like to give our condolences and best wishes to Steve and his family. I first met Pat when she was a freshman at WVU and was the best man at her and Steve's wedding. It has been a long time since we got together in either Morgantown, Charleston or Weirton and i wish we had kept in touch. Again, we wish the family the best.

Our condolences and well wishes. From Maria, Dave, Zakare, Elexes, Camaran, Shereden, Philip, Hannah, Gwendelen, and John WaddellPS... I know that Pat has helped a number of people through her teaching. I was surprised one day to meet a sister of one of Pat's former students recently who is now teaching in this area. She spoke of how good Pat was to her sister and the family and Pat's influence on her.
