George Bihun, Jr., 89, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, at Madison Nursing & Rehab Center.George was born in Sabraton on August 5, 1920, the son of the late George Bihun, Sr. and Pauline Andrella Bihun.He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor during World War II.George retired after 30 years of service at Sterling Faucet. He was a member of the Joseph W. Summers Lodge #173, Pioneer Sports Club in Bruceton Mills and was an avid sportsman. He also was referred to as the Mayor of Richard he never knew a stranger and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his companion and caregiver Amy Collins, two sisters, Ann Neldon of Morgantown and Helen Helmboldt and Ray of Connecticut daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Bihun of Tennesee two grandchildren, HeidiDennison and Terri Frey two great-grandchildren, Laura Dennison and Clay Dennison and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Jean Kovach Bihun, his son, Terry Allen Bihun, his brother, John Bihun and his sisters, Teresa Varro, Mary Miller. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Wednesday, March 17 from 5-8p.m. Panachida Service will be held at 5:30p.m. with Fr. Mojmir Zalcik officiating. Thursday, March 18, from 10-11a.m.A graveside service will be held in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. The Joseph W. Summers Lodge #173 will provide Masonic Rites at the cemetery.Donations may be made in Georgeâs memory to Hospice Care, P. O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
