Virgil Boerio, 68, of Palace Dr., Morgantown, Previously from Plum Borough in Pittsburgh, PA passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at his residence. Virgil was born in New Kennsington,PA on February 24, 1941, the son of the late John Boerio and the late Della (Bresso) Boerio.Virgil is survived by his wife Janet Malone Boerio, one son Mark Boerio and his wife Lauri of Matthews, N.C. two grandchildren Maura Boerio and Matt Boerio, and one sister Sandra Abmayr and her husband Dave.He was preceded in death by 1 brother Alvin Boerio in (1971)Virgil graduated as Valedictorian from Plum High School in 1959, and Graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a Technical expert in the Data networking, data communications, and telecommunications industries. He held director and manager positions at multiple companies throughout his career in Gulf Oil, Honeywell, Northern Telecom, AT&T, and WVU. He retired in 2008 from the FBI as an information security officer. Virgil was a role model husband, Father, Uncle, grandfather, and friend to many. He always had time to help others. Above all, Virgil was a extremely honest, caring and compassionate man who touched everyone who knew him. He will be dearly missed by all, but will be with us always in our hearts and minds.Virgil served in the Army. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. Morgantown on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 1-3:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home.Following the service Hastings Funeral Home will provide cremation services.In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cheat Lake Community Church 527 Tyrone Rd.
