Elmer Eugene âGeneâ Raymond, 61, of Walnut Hill Road, Morgantown, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his residence.Elmer was born in Uniontown, PA on October 25, 1948, a son of the late Elmer Raymond and the late Mary (Uphold) Raymond.He is survived by his fiancé, Mary Warsewich of Morgantown his siblings including Norval Raymond and wife, Jane, of Uniontown, Mary Etta Nolf of Brookhaven, Martha Raymond of Morgantown, Clifford Raymond of Morgantown, Helen Duley of Fairchance, PA, Alicia Clemsic and husband, David, of Morgantown, Kay Bean and husband, David, of Granville, Gary Raymond and wife, Nora Kay, of Morgantown, Nancy Newman and husband, Sam, of McClellandtown, PA, Douglas Raymond and wife, Von, of the Kingwood Pike and Darlene Pallay and husband, Barry, of Morgantown as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Sue Raymond, a brother, James Paul Raymond and a niece, Jennifer Sue Raymond. Gene graduated from University High School in 1967 and was employed by the Local Carpenterâs Union #0604 for many years. He also served as the Monongalia County Dog Warden and was a Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Morgantown. He was an avid coon hunter. He also enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, hunting, and watching tennis matches and the Boston Red Sox on TV.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Saturday, December 19th and again on Sunday, December 20th from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor David White officiating. Interment will follow in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
