Family of Mr. Peters,I am a volunteer for the Cancer Society's Road to Recovery. I took Mr. Peters to his radiation treatments on two occasions. I immediately liked Robert. He and I had a wonderful conversation discussing family (his & mine, my 4-year-old granddaughter went with us on one occasion). Being a cancer survivor, myself, we also talked about our battle with that disease. Robert was very proud of his daughters and their families. He talked of his travels and of his deceased wife. He was animated about life and seemed to be enjoying it. He praised my choice in automobiles (black Chevy Monte Carlo SS) and we talked about a mutual love of a nice car. On our visit to the cancer center, he spoke to many of the staff calling them by their names and I could tell that he was a favorite of theirs. I am sorry that you will no longer have those phone conversations or the visits that Robert said that he enjoyed so much, but your father told me that he had faith that he would have a life after this one through the grace of God, a life free of pain and sadness. May God comfort you and your families and give you the peace that only trust in our Heavenly Father can give you. Sincerely, Mary Ann Whetsell
