Dear Kate,Don,Char and Bill: We were deeply saddened to learn of Dutch's passing. Please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss.Dutch is my favorite uncle and I look back fondly at the times he pulled his "dutch uncle" act on me. I always deserved the comments he offered.I remember as a young boy sitting around your kitchen table with my brothers and cousins and Dutch. I never figured out how he always won that card game called 'Pig" and was always first to place his finger next to his nose. He was fun to play games with. He made you work to win, not just let you win. When you beat him you knew you had earned it. Love, Brit

Charleen & Family~ You have my deepest sympathy. Charleen speaks so highly of her parents and siblings, and she's shown so many pictures and told so many funny stories about her family, and even though I know none of you, my heart aches for your loss. Our thoughts are with Katie and the family. When we lived in Morgantown Dutch and Katie were the best of neighbors, the sort you always hope to have, but cannot always find. We know that Dutch will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, and everyone else who knew him. Although we no longer live across the street from Dutch and Katie, we still feel and mourn his passing.

Know that I am thinking about you all at this difficult time. But every sadness is balanced with a funny story of all the good times we had at the Welch household. And goodness there were a lot of them. Sue, I will always remember your dad with great affection. If nothing else, he receives high marks for tolerating (reasonably, at least) our antics.
