Jack Ryan, 81, of Des Moines Ave., Morgantown, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Monongalia General Hospital.Jack was born in Kempton, WV on November 3, 1928, the son of the late James Francis and Jennie P. Ryan.He is survived by his wife Rita G. Fasching Ryan, one son, John T. Ryan and spouse Kendra, two grandchildren, Parker Ryan and spouse Indré, Kristi Neal and spouse T. A. and one great-grandchild Ryan Alton Neal one sister, Norma DeFabio and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dick, Mike, Bill, Pat, James and Leslie Ryan and his sister, Evelyn Jackson. He was an honor guard in the United States Marine Corp stationed in Arlington, VA. He was also a member of the U.M.W.A. Local 1058. Jack enjoyed and loved his family and close friends. He was a very strong man with a gentle spirit and manner. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Wednesday, November 18 from 7-9p.m. and on Thursday, November 19 from 10-11a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00a.m.with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation maybe made in Jackâs memory to the Bartlett House, 1110 University Ave. Morgantown, WV 26505
