Charlotte L. Davis, 77, of Cheat Road, Morgantown, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Monongalia General Hospital after a short illness.Charlotte was born in Monongalia County on March 11, 1932, the daughter of the late C. Raymond and Lulu B. Forman Hare.She was a life long member of Avery United Methodist Church.She was a teacher in Monongalia County for 25 years having taught 3rd grade. She enjoyed reading, baking and following the Mountaineers and Pirates. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Allison L. Davis of Morgantown, her sisters, Doris Jean Bowers and husband, Okey of Bridgeport, WV Nancy T. Thrush of Beltsville, MD her brothers, James C. Hare and wife, Marlene of Weirton, WV and Charles R. Hare and wife Donna of Morgantown and 23 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Robert Davis in 1979, her sisters, Barbara Hardiman and Mary Jo Staddon and one niece.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home 153 Spruce Street, on Sunday, November 15 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Monday, November 16 from 10-11a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard L. Work, Jr. officiating.
