Valilia Elizabeth Henderson, 92, of Richland Avenue, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Golden Living Center.Valilia was born in Frugality, PA on May 27, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Jean Buddle Ord.Valilia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker for 75 years. She was also a dedicated member of her church, wherever the family lived in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia serving as an officer and diligent worker in the United Methodist Women. She returned to Morgantown from Falls Church, VA in 1998 to live with her daughter after the death of her husband in 1995. She attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Morgantown. She is survived by her daughter, Marta Jeanne Henderson of Morgantown, and son Francis Henry Henderson, Jr. and his wife Christine of Boca Raton, FL, her grandchildren, Matthew Henderson of Orlando, FL, Christopher Henderson of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Catherine Henderson of Hollywood, FL, sister-in-law Isabelle Moncey of Columbia, MO, ex-daughter in law Donna Werdine Henderson of Fort Lauderdale, FL and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Henry Henderson, in-laws- Euphemia and George Henderson, and sisters, Winifred Ord Patterson and Martha Ord Holmberg. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown from 2-5pm on Wednesday, October 21. Visitation will continue at the Wesley United Methodist Church from 10-11am on Thursday, October 22. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11am on Thursday, with Rev. Michael Atkinson officiating. Interment will be held at 1pm on Monday, October 26, in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA.
