Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" McClain, Jr., 82, also affectionately known as âBuddyâ, of Stafford St., Morgantown, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown.Ted was born in Dilliner, PA on April 10, 1927, a son of the late Theodore Roosevelt McClain, Sr. and the late W. Goldie (Wamsley) McClain.Survivors include two brothers, Bill McClain and his wife, Joy of Columbus, OH, and Bob McClain and his wife, Barbara of Morgantown, WV one sister, Nellie Williams of Morgantown and eight nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews and four great-great-nieces including his caregivers Judy Fast and her husband Ira of Morgantown, and Jennifer McClelland and her husband Philip and their children Emma and Kate of Kingwood.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Neigbhbors.Ted was a graduate of Morgantown High School, and West Virginia University where he received his Bachelorâs and Masterâs Degrees in Education. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict.He taught Art for 35 years in Middletown, DE, and lived in Bear, DE and other locations near there for 40 years. He retired in 1989 and returned to Morgantown where he lived a life of leisure. Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown is providing cremation services to the family.A graveside service will be held at a date to be announced in Lawnwood Cemetery in Morgantown.
