Obituary of Hazel Knicely

Hazel Virginia Knicely, 89, of the Old Kingwood Pike, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Golden Living Center. Hazel was born in Morgantown on February 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Martha Brown Dalton. Hazel was a firm believer in the Pentecostal faith. She is survived by three sons Rex Dalton and wife Linda of Morgantown, Gary Dalton and wife, Mary of Bruceton Mills and Verlon Knicely of Morgantown a daughter Dixie Blaney of Morgantown She is survived by two brothers Lonnie Dalton of Booth and Jessie Dalton of Morgantown as well as five grandchildren, Gabriel Dalton, Ellen Dalton, Ginger Wheeler, Aaron Dalton and Gary Dalton, Jr., and three great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Dalton and her second husband, Edwin Knicely, two grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, on Monday, September 14 from 9-11a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11am with Rev. Norma Stimmell officiating. A graveside service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hazel V. Knicely Memorial Account, c/o Clear Mountain Bank, 1889 Earl Core Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
