Obituary of Roger Williams

Roger N. Williams, 65, of Old River Rd., Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 17, 2009 at his residence. He was born January 16, 1944 in Morgantown, a son of the late Robert Rex and Inez Mae Baker Williams. Roger was a graduate of Morgantown High School and completed business college at West Virginia University. He was a retired coal miner, and currently was employed as a Supervisor at Garrett Mine Supply in Sabraton. He was an avid reader and a proud member of the Sons of the Revolution. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly loved his children. Survivors include his three children, Roger Rex Williams and Hannah Inez Williams, both of Westover, and Roxane Lynn Williams of Chester, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Alice M. Herod and Mary Lou Robinson, making him the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 5-8 PM Friday and again on Saturday from 10-11 AM. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
