William "Dobie" Blaney, 78, of Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.He was born in Morgantown on November 1, 1930, the son of the late Charles "Big Dobeâ and Nancy Murray Blaney.He retired from Duntile Block Company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dixie Dalton Blaney, a daughter Ginger Wheeler and fiancée James Celli, two granddaughters Angela Wheeler and fiancée Michquel Cress Jr., Amanda Wheeler and fiancée Anthony Murray, a beloved great-grandson Levi Taylor Murray, all of Morgantown, two brothers, James âBarneyâ Blaney of Morgantown, David Campbell of Eden, two sisters, Lois âDoll Babyâ White of Morgantown, and Shirley Robinson of Morgantown, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Junior Blaney.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Thursday, July 30, from 4-7p.m. and Friday, July 31, from 12 (noon)-1p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Jason Blosser officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Morgantown.
