Angie C. Pileggi, 96, formerly of Arch Street, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Monongalia General Hospital.Angie was born in Morgantown on July 6, 1913, the daughter of the late Dominick and Rosina Ciampi Pileggi. She resided at 417 Arch Street in Greenmont neighborhood for over 90 years, living her last 2 ½ years at Sundale Nursing Home.She was a graduate of Morgantown High School, class of 1932, and retired with over 20 years of service from West Virginia University as a secretary for the College of Art and Science.She was a life long member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church formerly St. Teresas.Angie was interested in and enjoyed people very much. She was a truly caring person for whom family and friends were most important. She formed many close, enduring friendships throughout her long life, continuing to make new friends of all ages to the very end of her life.Angie was highly respected and much appreciated by neighbors, friends and especially family for her consistent thoughtfulness, kindness and engaging humor. She was also much admired for her sharp mind and excellent memory.Angie elicited great affection from those who knew her and she will be missed by many, most especially by her family to whom she was so special.She is survived by a 1st cousin Angelina Pileggi of Fairmont, nephews, Joe Pileggi, William Pileggi, Robert Pileggi, Jim Smith, Paul Smith, John Chedester, and Robert Chedester nieces, Susan Buchanon, Karen Smith, Candace Smith-Kratchman and Cherry Lynn Stamper 22 grand nephews and nieces 10 great-grand nephews and nieces and a most special friend and cousin Elizabeth Conrad.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Bennie and Jimmy Pileggi her sisters, Connie Chedester and Rose Smith, a nephew, Leonard Pileggi, a grand niece, Debbie Mocsary and her dear friend Jack Conrad. Friends will be received at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Saturday, July 18 from 9-11a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church at 11:00a.m with Fr. Joseph Mascioli as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.Donations may be made in Angieâs memory to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508.
