Betty LaMar, 89, of Morningside Drive, Morgantown, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, at her residence.Betty was born in Irona, WV on April 6, 1920, the daughter of the late Mitch and Flottie Shuttlesworth.She was a former employee of the Star City Glass Co, Shirt Factory and maintenance at various schools. She also worked at a laundry mat in Ohio. She retired from the West Virginia University working in student housing. She was a wonderful mother she will be sadly missed by all that knew her.She is the mother of three sons: Jerry LaMar and Betty of Terra Alta, Roger LaMar and Gail Ann of Windsor, OH, Phillip LaMar and Connie of Elyria, OH and two daughters, Betty Burner of Morgantown, and Phyllis Druckenbrod and Brian of Eastlake, OH grandsons, Jerry Pat, Joshua, Tommy, Jimmy, Mark, Brian, Phil, Randy and Steve granddaughters, Tina, Deanna, Michelle, Heather, Janelle, Alicia and Pamala 35 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Paul LaMar, sister, Jessie Walker and brother, Lee ShuttlesworthFamily and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Sunday, June 28 from 5-8p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, June 29 from Noon to 1p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00p.m.with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery.Donations may be made in Bettyâs memory to the Betty LaMar Memorial Account, c/o Clear Mountain Bank, 1889 Earl Core Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
