Obituary of Esther Earle Heft

Esther Earle Heft was born in Charleston, WV on March 16, 1937, and was raised a daughter of the late Frederick James Pickenpaugh and the late Estella Ley Pickenpaugh. She passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at Sundale Nursing Home of Morgantown, WV and was granted her wish to be reunited with her father in Heaven. Survivors include her husband and lifetime companion, John David Heft, Sr.; four children, Debra Taylor and husband James; John David Heft Jr., Patricia Ann Royce and husband Ken, and James Robert Heft all of Morgantown; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Heft worked for a period of time with Mylan Pharmaceuticals, WV Career College, the WVU Visitors Center and finally the Admissions and Records Department. She was an avid WVU sports fan. She loved flowers, gospel music and shopping. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of the Monongalia County Historical Society. Mrs. Heft's family was responsible for donating the Easton Roller Mill to the historical society. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 4:30 - 6:30 Pm Sunday, March 17th and again on Monday, March 18th from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor Tim Haring officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery, Pt. Marion Rd., Morgantown. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Michael Maroon and Dr. Vincent Delagarza, the staff of Sundale Nursing Home - particularly Mike and Brenda, Monongalia General Hospice and her son John, Jr. for the excellent care that they provided to Mrs. Heft.
