Anna (Babich) Luchok, 88, of Morgantown, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was born October 23, 1924, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Babich. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Luchok. Mrs. Luchok was a 1942 graduate of University High School and was a homemaker and a loving mother of five. She was also a lifelong member of the St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Westover, where she served on the church board. She was a gifted seamstress and a talented baker, who helped make many ethnic delicacies for Christmas and Easter bake sales at the church. She also served as a poll worker for many local, state, and national elections. She is survived by four children, Joseph Luchok (Dorsey) of Washington, D.C., Christine Fallon (Michael) of Herndon, VA, Kathryn Luchok (Christopher Toumey) of Columbia, S.C., and Rebecca Connelly (James) of St. Petersburg, FL; seven grandchildren, Rachel Moriak Sumner (Michael) and Father Matthew Moriak (Jodi), John and Kathleen Fallon, Benjamin Connelly, and Vivien and Aidan Toumey; and four great grandchildren, Jude and Nadia Sumner, and Jeannette and Owen Moriak. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Medvick of Keyser; her son-in-law, His Grace, Bishop Matthias (Moriak), and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannette Luchok Moriak; and five brothers, Stephen, Peter, John, Charles, and Joseph Babich. The family wishes to acknowledge with great appreciation the loving care provided by Anna's niece, Ellen McCabe of Morgantown. Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Sunday, May 5, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9. The Recitation of the Panachida will take place in the funeral home on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at 7:30 pm. Mrs. Luchok will be moved to the St. Mary's Orthodox Church, 19 West Park Ave., Morgantown, WV, on Monday, May 6, 2013, where the funeral service will take place at 10:00 am with Bishop Matthias, Rev. Father Matthew Moriak, and Rev. Father Matthew Stagon officiating. Friends are invited to be at the church by 9:45 am on Monday morning for the funeral service. Interment will follow the service at the East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make contributions in Mrs. Luchok's memory to the St. Mary's Orthodox Church, 19 West Park Ave., Morgantown, WV 26501, or to the Jeannette Luchok Moriak Scholarship Fund, WVU Foundation Inc., PO Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507-1650.
