Obituary of Teena Taylor
Please share a memory of Teena to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
A love story ended on May 3rd. Teena St Maria Taylor lost her extraordinary battle for life surrounded by the love and respect of her family. She was with the love of her life, caretaker and biggest advocate, her husband, Jay Taylor of Morgantown, his devoted family and her caring sisters. Teena, the daughter of Andy and Margie Lesho of Weirton, was a graduate of the WVU School of Nursing. She spent her entire career at WVU/Ruby Memorial Hospitals.
Teena was the first Kidney Transplant at WVU in 1986. She continued to fight courageously, surviving a second kidney transplant, breast cancer, open heart surgery, and years of dialysis. During all these challenging health battles, she was surrounded by strong, loyal and devoted friends and her supportive family, especially her loving daughters, Erikka and Taryn; son, Jay and grandchildren.
Everyone who knew Teena was amazed at her positive will to live and the gift of giving she continued to have. "I fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept my faith." Timothy 4:7
The family of Teena is grateful for the committed, dedicated care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Ruby Memorial Hospital and BMA Fredenius Dialysis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to BMA Fresenius, 11 Commerce St. Dr., Suite 102, Morgantown, WV 26501.
Friends may visit the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Monday (5-6-13) from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday (5-7-13) from 9-10 am. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 am with Elder Anita Robinson officiating. A private burial service will follow at a later time.
