Obituary of Janet Lynn Mills
Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Monday, May 20, 2013 at 8:45 pm the love of our lives left this world of pain, sorrow and grief into the arms of Jesus, into peace, love, joy and family.
Our lives are forever changed.
Janet Lynn was born July 14, 1974. God brought this little precious gift to us on October 16, 1974. Jan is the daughter of Ron and Linda Hughes Mills.
Those preceding Jan into eternal life are her grandparents, Jack and Margaret Hughes - Jan loved them so; and Elmer and Patty Mills; and two brothers, James David and Rodney Allen.
Janet Lynn is survived by her Dad and Mom, Ron and Linda, her fiancée, Michael; and the love of Jan's life, her dog, Parker, along with a host of family and friends.
Janet Lynn, my June Bird, fought so very hard for five years and seven months with a horrible disease, Pancreatic Cancer. So many lives have been touched, and so many have been helped in this journey that she traveled. She is and will always be my hero. Words cannot express the strength and determination to push forward and fight and Jan fought so very hard. That beautiful smile is etched in our minds forever.
Jan graduated from Independence in 1992. Jan started working at Glade Springs Resort in 1999 and continued there when Robert Wong came on board as Chef and a close friendship emerged. Jan and Michael moved to Charleston in 2004 and worked with Robert to open Bridge Road Bistro. Jan was manager of Bistro Gourmet Shop in South Hills and Power Alley Grill.
In May 2007 Jan and Michael moved to Morgantown, WV.
Jan's journey began in October 2007 with this dreaded disease. Janet Lynn fought so very hard for so very long.
Rest in Peace, my child.
To each and every one that prayed for our daughter - thank you and God Bless.
To Dr. Auber and staff at Ruby Memorial Hospital, thank you for your dedication to Jan and your drive to help her in this journey.
In keeping with Jan's wishes, she has been cremated.
On Saturday, June 8th at 2:00 pm, we will celebrate the Life of One Amazing Person. Missed and loved by so many, at the Stotesbury Community Church, Stotesbury, WV, with Pastor Mark Hatfield. Come visit and share your memories from 12 to 2 pm.
