Obituary of Richard Allen Groves

Richard Allen Groves, 62, of Old School Road, Morgantown, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness. Richard was born in Morgantown on July 26, 1949, a son of the late Archie Preston Groves and the late Helen Gibson Groves McIntyre. Survivors include his wife, Sally Ann Crites; four children, Richard Groves and his companion Gloria, and Kirk Groves and his wife Patricia all of Doddridge Co., Allan Groves of Morgantown and Krystle Groves of the Kingwood Pike; and one grandson, Shawn Groves. Richard was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways in Morgantown in various capacities. He was a man who genuinely loved life and the United States Navy. Many people can say the words, "he was a good man," but Richard truly was a good man in every way. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Bishop Brad Jensen of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints officiating.
