Obituary of Charles Richard Sturms

Charles Richard Sturms, 83, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. He was born March 18, 1930 in Pierce, WV, the son of the late James and Gertrude Chandler Sturms. Charles is survived by his wife Martha Baird Sturms; his four children, Charles R. (Rick) II and his fiancé Leilani Baudoin, Sandra K. Kelley and her husband Larry, Tammy S. Shultz, and Stephen M. Sturms; and a brother, James C. Sturms. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Chavis Griffin. Charles retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service and then worked and retired from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1992. At his request, cremation services have been provided by Hastings Funeral Home. A Private Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Col.
