George Musick, 83, of Cheat Lake, passed away at Hillside Manor Personal Care Home after a brief illness on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
George was born on April 7, 1930 in Morgantown, the son of the late John and Mary Zavatchan Musick.
He worked at the Sherwin Williams Paint Company in Cleveland, Ohio until 1972 when he returned to the Morgantown area with his family. After working at Buckeye Stone, and Shannopin Mine in Bobtown, PA, he retired from the West Virginia Geological Survey in 1992 where he was employed as the maintenance man.
He enjoyed visiting with friends at the Monongalia County Senior Center, the Uniontown Mall and the Sabraton McDonalds.
George is survived by his daughters Lee Ann Greathouse and husband Terry of Fairchance, PA and Kimberly Sharpe and husband Sam of Newport News, Va. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" DiPietro of Bowie, MD, Dorothy Gerard of Morgantown, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Doris "Sissy" DeWitt Musick, sisters, Mary Duffer, Helen Robinson, and Anna Wancheck and brothers, John, Mike, Charles and Steve.
Friends and family may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 1- 8p.m. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 28th from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am with Rev. George Koon, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
