Obituary of Patricia June Coleman DeWeese

Patricia "Patty" Coleman DeWeese, 88, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 12, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Clarksburg, WV, October 26,1924, the daughter of the late Kenneth Coleman and June E. Kennedy.
She was a graduate of Victory High School, Clarksburg, WV, where she was a delegate to Girl's State.
Patty was employed at National Carbon, Anmore, WV and the Farmer's and Merchant's Bank, Morgantown, WV. She retired from the WVU School of Engineering.
She was an active member of the Morgantown BPO Elks Lodge 411 Lady Elks. She and her husband Dusty were charter members of the Beau Monde dance club and members of the Pines Country Club, spending many days on the links with their friends. She was an avid reader, traveler, artist and loved her WVU sports.
Patty is survived by her two beloved daughters, Deborah Ann Gooden of Washington, PA and Robin June McCarty of Dataw Island, SC, a grandson, Christopher M. Gooden of Washington, PA, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Basil and Ruth DeWeese, nieces Diane Apruzzese, Susan DeWeese and Jennifer Krinke, all of Eberbach, Germany and a sister-in-law, Flora E. Bailey of Mt. Claire, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband "Dusty" of 66 years, her daughter Sharman Bly DeWeese, son-in-law, C. Gordon McCarty and brother-in-law, Charles Bailey.
Our mother was surrounded by her loving caregivers Connie, Betty and Shelia.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Monday, October 14, from 6-8 pm. Tuesday, October 15, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, October 16th from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Garden, Quiet Dell, WV.
Morgantown Elks Lodge #411 will hold a memorial service Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM in the funeral home to conclude the evening visitation.
