Obituary of Delores Fisher Beach

Delores Fisher Beach, 85, of Star City, passed away Tuesday afternoon April 8, 2014, peacefully and with loved ones by her side, at Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown. Delores was born in Star City on December 25, 1928, a daughter of the late Andrew Fisher and the late Mary (Bowers) Fisher.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Star City. She graduated from Morgantown High School and West Virginia University. She worked as a substitute teacher in Union Township, NJ until retiring back to Star City, WV in 1982.
Delores is survived by her three children, Edward L. Beach, III of Westfield, NJ, Dr. Diane Rice and her companion Peter Magellan of Vienna, VA and Andrew Fisher Beach and his wife Mary of Clark, NJ; her grandchildren, Greg and his wife Cheryl, Jessica, Jordan, Alexandra, April and Andrew; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Christopher; her brother-in-law, Clyde Drews; several nieces and nephews; and her "granddog" Isabel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Edward L. Beach, Jr.; and her two sisters and one brother-in-law, Virginia Laurie Drews and Shirley and Jasper Steele.
Delores will be lovingly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Her beauty, grace and love was bestowed upon many during her lifetime. She had a fiery spirit and sharp wit that will never be forgotten, along with the red lipstick that she loved to wear. Mims kept her family and friends laughing until the end.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Mapleshire Nursing Home as well as Hospice Care for the love and care they gave to "Grandma" during the time they knew her. They also wish to give a very special thank you to her nephew and "partner-in-crime", Don, and his wife, Priscilla, who were a great help to Mims during her final years in Morgantown.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Thursday, April 10 from 4:00-8:00 PM. On Friday, April 11th, Delores will be moved to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Star City, where she will lay in repose from 10 AMuntil the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father John V. DiBacco as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Peace Garden Mausoleum, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
