Daniel Paul Gidley, Sr. , 61, of Lake Lynn, PA passed away early Wednesday morning June, 25, 2014, with family at his side at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. The son of the late Carl Lloyd Wesley Gidley and Betty Jane Chidester Gidley he was born at USAF Hospital, Burtonwood Air Force Base, Burtonwood, Warrington Lancashire, England on April 2, 1953. He was involved with AA nationally and in the Bahamas. He was inspirational and provided guidance to everyone he met. He enjoyed Meat cutting as a career. He was an avid softball player and coach until the mid-1990. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Ann Ghuste Gidley, two sons Daniel Paul Gidley II and wife Tina of Morgantown, Charles Wood of PA, three daughters Sara Jane Gidley of Morgantown, Mary Beth Ghuste of Lake Lynn, PA, Lucy Wood of New York, six precious grandchildren, three sisters Marsha Gidley, Carla Snyder, and Sandy Jones. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Lucy Wood Gidley. In honoring Dan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial services. Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements
