Obituary of Amy Wheeler Brown

Amy Wheeler Brown, 61, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Deep Creek, MD surrounded by her family. She was born in Uniontown, PA on November 4, 1952, the daughter of the late William Mackall Wheeler and Harriet McLean (Fowler) Wheeler. Amy graduated from Laurel Highlands High School and attended WVU. After raising her children she ran her own business, worked as a nurse’s aide then went on to work for West Virginia University, Dining Services. She always had a deep love of all animals. She enjoyed raising and riding horses. She was a talented seamstress, especially with upholstery. She had a knack for vegetable gardening and canning her harvest. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Amy is survived by son Nicholas Brown and wife Stephanie, daughter, Cassie Caplan and husband Josh all of Morgantown; her grandchildren, Nicholas Brown, Alexander Brown, Wyatt Caplan and Garner Caplan; sisters, Kim, Linda and Cathy, and many close family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother Virginia, and one sister, Susan. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at St. Thomas a Becket Episcopal Church, 75 Old Cheat Lake Road, Morgantown Saturday, June 28th along with visitation from 10a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00p.m with The Rev. Julie B. Murdoch officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Amy’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Monongalia Unit, 122 S. High St., Morgantown, WV 26501 or M-SNAP, P. O.
