Dear Stewart Family,
I am so extremely saddened to hear of the passing of your sweet baby boy, Marlowe. My memories of Marlowe are of seeing Mrs. Stewart when she was pregnant with him and seeing Marlowe as a sweet little baby when he was first born as I worked at the front desk of their house in Boreman my sophomore year in 2000. You have my deepest heartfelt sympathy.
God Bless you and your family at this difficult time. May God send you peace and comfort. You are in my prayers.

Prayers & condolences for you and your entire family, dear Shawna. I cherish many fond memories of your sweet, carefree Marlowe and his adorable smile when our paths crossed. Just like you Shawna, he was full of joy and exuded a genuine love for life. I can not imagine your grief, dear friend. My prayers are that you all may be comforted by God's promises and His assurance... that one day, by God's grace through faith in Jesus, you will hug sweet Marlowe again and spend eternity with your precious son in Heaven. Hugs and prayers, dear one. XOXO ~ Gigi

Dear David, Shawna, and family,
I am so saddened to hear of Marlowe's passing. I remember him as the sweet little toddler that followed his mom around Boreman hall in 2003 when I was there as a WVU student. Shawna, you are such an incredible mother and I know that Marlowe knew he was so loved by you, David, and his siblings.
I'm thinking of you all during this difficult time. Sending much love and prayers from Texas.

My condolences on the tragic loss of your young son, Marlowe.
I wish to share comfort from the Bible at this terribly sad time .
Jesus well knew the Bible statement:" Time and unforeseen occurrence befall them Ecclesiastes 9:11]. He knew that
sometimes terrible things just happen.
The Bible teaches us about the wonderful future resurrection hope is the promise found at John 5:28,29.At that time, we will be able, as the Bible promises, to welcome back our dear loved ones who have fallen asleep in death.
Revelation 21:3,4 states that in the future ' death will be no more. and pain
will be no more.."
Our Creator, Jehovah God, by means of his son Jesus, is going to undo the tragedies that touch our lives today and we will be able to welcome back onto the paradise earth, our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death.
There is much Bible-based comfort to be found on the website jw.org

Dear Shawna,
When learning about the loss of your son, I was so very, very sorry. What a handsome, precious boy. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.
Although I have not seen you since you were but a small child, through the years I have heard Don speak of you and your wonderful family and what a wonderful mother you are. I and by late husband, David Skipworth, were friends with your mother and dad, and have been friends of your dad and his family since 1955. My oldest daughter, Dedrea Meisner (Skipworth) remembers you when you were both very young. She was also very sorrowful when I told her about your son.
I do not know why this had to happen, but one thing I know.... God is holding you in His arms right now and may you feel his love in a special way.
Love,
Judy Howle (Cooper)

David, Shawna and Stewart family, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Marlowe as a baby and the younger children in your family running, laughing and playing through the halls of Boreman while I was there. I watched your family grow and the children grow up while I was there. I can't imagine your grief and sadness. Though I never had the opportunity to interact much with Marlowe, I know that if he was anything like the rest of you he was a wonderful person full of love. It breaks my heart knowing that such good people are suffering in such a profound way. All of you are in my thoughts and have my deepest sympathies.

I have witnessed Marlowe over the last few years caring for his nephews, nieces, brothers, sisters, and parents. He seemed to have a unique nurturing presence with young children for a kid his age, surely God given. My own children naturally noticed this quality in Marlowe and felt very safe in his presence, both are now Soccer enthusiasts. We all deeply feel his loss and our energy and thoughts are with the Stewart family, a large and loving family who collectively set a great example for us all. The journey will be long but with the memories of Marlowe we pray the Stewart family will find peace.

Dear Stewart Family,
We wish to offer our sincere condolences to you all at this most extremely painful time. There is nothing we could say to make things better except to let you all know someone cares. My daughter Mercedes knew Marlowe and said he was truly one of the sweetest boys and knew everyone liked him. She is very sad and still cries, i think she secretly had a crush, lol. She says no one sits in his seat at lunch and they all signed his locker. As a mother i can only imagine the pain you all are feeling. It truly breaks my heart. We live off that road, so I know how dangerous it is. I pray for you all to some day find peace and know that there are people who do care. Many, many prayers and may God Bless you all.

My love and prayers go out to you in your grief and suffering. I know your pain so well because I lost my son Sept 7th three years ago.
I was so numb in the beginning, but reality set in, and my only consolation was turning everything over to God. I have walked in the Lord's footsteps every minute of every hour of every day for three years. I always considered myself a good christian, but that day changed everything. I realized I couldn't go on without the peace that only the spirit of God can bring.
This is not a pep talk, but a parent that loved her child more than life itself, and would have gladly given my own life to save my child.
I just want you to know that anything is possible with God. He will see you through each step until someday you are united once again with your son.
If ever you need to talk, please feel free to contact me. Your family will be in my prayers.
With sincerity,

Dear Stewart Family,
I have known Marlowe for about as long as this school year has been in session. From the first day we rode the bus home together, I knew he was a good person. He began by introducing himself and asking questions like "Where do you live?" and "How long have you lived there?". From that day on we talked every day.
He truly was a great person and a role model. He immediately made me feel like a friend. I hope that I can be as good of a friend to someone else, like he was becoming to me. I am extremely sorry about what happened and I leave my prayers with you.

I am deeply sorry about the loss if Marlowe. I rode the bus home with him everyday and thought he was a wonderful child. He had a contagious laugh and when he smiled, even if you were at your worst, it made you smile too. Marlowe was new to South but we treated him like we knew each other forever and vice versa. He also participated in the friendly banter in the bus and tried to put an end to all the bullying at school. We have even let people write notes and leave notes on and in his locker for him and the family. In my Spanish class, the teacher had us write the family a letter about how sorry we are. I think the only reason Marlowe left us was because God couldn't stand to be without him any longer. I am deeply sorry.

The Stewart family was such a huge part of my life at WVU and I loved watching Marlowe grow up for 4 years of his too short life. We could all say "there are no words" but, in truth, those words also will not bring comfort to a loving, generous, kind family. Prayers, thoughts, and fun memories of Boreman Hall will continue to fill my soul.

I didn't know Marlowe or his family, but know my heart has been heavy since I heard. I cant imagine the pain and agony you must feel. I am so very sorry for the entire family's loss, no parent should ever experience the loss of a child. Praise God for the precious memories as they will live in your heart forever. I have been lifting Marlowe's family up in prayer since I heard the terrible news. I pray God wraps his arms around his entire family in the days, weeks and months ahead, and gives comfort and strength In Jesus Holy name I Pray, Amen!
