Mary Alice Cotter, 90, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, October 31st. She was born May 2, 1924 in Monongalia County, WV, a daughter of the late Zeddock Benton Christopher and Grace Sharpneck Areford Christopher. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vernon Cotter, who passed away in 1964. She attended Morgantown High School and retired as a Billing Clerk at WVU Hospitals. She was a Catholic by faith and loved to spend time with her family, do crossword puzzles, walk, and babysit her nieces. Mrs. Cotter is survived by her daughter, Caroline Michelle Taylor and her husband Joseph Michael of Morgantown; son, Robert Michael Cotter and his wife Cheryl Neace of Pittsburgh; and brother, George Franklin Christopher of Pisgah, WV. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Susie Fields. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Patricia Cotter; sister, Helen Huggins; brothers, Wilford Christopher, Edward Christopher, Zeddie Christopher, Jr., William Christopher, and Richard Christopher. The family would like to thank the generous caregivers at Point Manor in Point Marion, PA. Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown on Wednesday, November 5th from 10 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM with Father John V. DiBacco officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery in Morgantown.
