Robert Sylvester “Bob” Turner, 71, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Monongalia General Hospital. Born in Morgantown on August 15, 1943, Bob was the son of the late Sylvester and Margaret (Zozac) Turner. Survivors include his two children, Toni DeWitt and her husband John of Morgantown and Travis Turner and his wife Debbie of Fairmont,; four grandchildren, Jessica Darnell of Morgantown, Rebekka Bissett and her husband Ben of Westover, Zech Turner and his wife Paige of Morgantown and Joshua DeWitt of Morgantown; three great-grandchildren, Zech Tuner, Jr., Fallon DeWitt and Ella Swihart; and one brother, William “Bill” Turner of Morgantown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Turner, and an infant sister, Betty Margaret Turner. Bob was a car salesman in Morgantown for over 40 years. He spent six years in the US Army Reserves. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed cooking. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Sunday, December 28 from 12-2 PM. There will be no formal funeral service and following the visitation, Bob’s wishes for cremation will be honored by his family. Inurnment will take place privately at a later date in Preston County.
