A decade ago, I contacted Mrs. Marino and expressed my eternal gratitude for her delightful and insightful teaching at MHS. Through 18 years of education, she remained my FAVORITE teacher and she inspired me to look beneath the surface to learn in depth and to teach. My heart goes out to her family.
Pat DeVincent, MHS ‘76

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Mrs. Marino. Both she and her husband enriched my life, helped my life, and will always be a part of the dear memories I hold of education and school. We corresponded over the years with Mrs. Marino sending me the news of dear friends and Coach Catlett and Morgantown and my sending her art. For the past couple years I haven't reached her and I hope that her life was good for her. She was a wonderful friend, teacher and to be honest with you I feel such a loss-but I know hers was a life well lived in loving action on behalf of others. She taught me long after MHS and modeled a way for me. I'm a teacher and she and Frank helped me practice for my first interviews to land a job! Heaven gained an angel, God Bless you Mrs. Marino!

i am just seeing this, today, 1/14/2015. I am very sorry to learn of Mrs. Marino's passing. I knew her daughter Maria through the public school years in Morgantown. I was in her 9th grade civics class when she taught at Suncrest Jr. High. This memory came flooding back to me when I read this notice. Thinking back, she was the funniest, most engaging teacher I ever had. We got our first taste of thinking seriously about what it meant to be a citizen, around 1967! I only wish everyone could have a teacher as memorable as she was. We would all be better citizens, and a better country. I envy those who had her at MHS and got to travel with her on those overseas trips. I know she is remembered fondly by many.

R.I.P. Mrs. Marino. When voting, I recall memories of Mrs Marino telling students at Suncrest Junior High that voting is a privilege and responsibility for our freedom.
She made a LASTING impact on many students. Mrs. Marino was a FABULOUS teacher and made me proud to be Italian. It was a treat to share mass with you within the last couple of years. Condolences to the family.
