Obituary of Catherine Patricia Anderson

Catherine Patricia “Kitty” Anderson, 89, of Star City, peacefully passed away after an extended illness on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1925 in Star City. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucille Barill Costante, both formerly of Italy. Kitty worked for many years at Beaumont Glass Factory as a paint decorator. A woman of strong faith, she was a long time parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Star City. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Ronald) Canady; a grandson, Amon Canady whom she loved dearly and adored; a sister and best friend, Angeline Mollohan with whom she made her home; and several nieces and nephews. Her niece, Donna Wheeler, helped Kitty manage her medicines and her care. Donna was very caring and loved by Kitty. Donna was also very helpful and caring to Kitty’s daughter, Linda, during her ill health and extended illness. Kitty’s family would like to thank Mary Warden, MD and her staff at Geriatrics POC at Ruby Memorial Hospital, whom always greeted her and made her feel loved and cared for. Thank you to the staff of Ruby Memorial Hospital who took the time to care for her and make her more comfortable during her long stay at the hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence (Andy) William Anderson in 1982; two brothers, Dominic and Sam; and four sisters, Elizabeth, Rose, Teresa, and Mary. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Sunday, January 4th from 3-6 PM. Visitation will continue at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Star City on Monday, January 5th from 10 AM until the time of the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father John V.
