George Junior Stoker, 67, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015, at his home. He was born in Friendsville, Md. on March 31, 1948, the son of the late George Buster Stoker and the late Anna Katherine (Frazee) Stoker. George served in the First Air Calvary Division of the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 68 & 69 as a helicopter crew chief, inserting and extracting troops and supplies into and out of the battle areas. He owned and operated Stoker’s Body and Paint Works until his retirement and was well known for his quality workmanship. George especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at his hunting camp in Birch River. He also enjoyed riding his Harley with friends, working on and driving his two hotrod collector cars and participating in area car shows. He will be missed in the racing community because of his support and huge passion for motorsports. He was known to his many friends for having a unique way of expressing himself, was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow veterans at the local vet center. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Caroline of 44 years who will always cherish the love and support he provided to her. Also survived by sisters-in-law and spouses, Sherry (Frank) Salai, Sharon (Charles) Jackson, and brother-in-law, William Fieldhouse, all of Morgantown, several nieces and nephews, “special cousins” Richard (Melanie) Ball of Masontown, and Robert (Shirley) Niner of Confluence, PA; close friend and neighbor, Ed (Billie) Swearingen, and his two treasured canine buddies, Bobo and Maggie. In keeping with Mr. Stoker’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Omega Crematory, Hastings Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be at Hastings Funeral Home. 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Saturday, November 21st from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Darnell officiating.
