Caron I. Gladfelter, 59, of Burnsville (formerly of Morgantown), passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at Mon General Hospital of Morgantown, WV.
She was born in Morgantown on July 24, 1956, the daughter of the late Carl Reginald Harper and the late Laura Isabelle (Wilson) Harper.
Caron was a 1974 graduate of Morgantown High.
Caron was formerly employed at Aramark at Glenville State College in food service. She enjoyed spending time in nature, cooking, gardening, crocheting, and her pets.
Caron is survived by her husband of 27 years, James Gladfelter; siblings, Carl E. Harper with Sandra Shannon Harper of Morgantown, Charles A. Harper and wife Patricia of Morgantown, Richard G. Harper with wife Deborah of Masontown, Sheila A. Myers and husband Charles of Myrtle Beach, SC, James F. Harper with wife Candice of Morgantown, George S. “Steve” Harper with wife Sandy of Morgantown, and Charles Trompak of Bruceton Mills. She is also survived by Thirteen nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lea Trompak.
Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, January 20th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Jim Weber officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 S. High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501.
