I just learned today of the passing of both Dieter and his brother Fritz, little more than a month later. I lost touch with them after college, last seeing Fritz for coffee at Fairmont State sometime in the 1980's. I've lived in North Carolina since 2000 but lived and worked all my life in Pittsburgh. I had always planned on one of my trips back to Pittsburg to look them both up but unfortunately never did. I met them both in 1960 at the McKeesport campus of Penn State. We formed a very close group of friends for the two years while there and I roomed with Dieter my senior year at main campus. I lost touch with them after college except for the visit with Fritz just mentioned. I've often thought of the great memories I have and the fun they both were to be around. It seemed all we did when together at Penn State McKeesport was laugh and kid each other. They were great guys and I regret not stopping to see them when passing thru Morgantown. My warmest condolences to the families of both Dieter and Fritz. May God bless you with his peace in your loss.

Fred was a good friend of mine and my wife Hanea. He was a great Saturday breakfast member, knowledgeable and witty. He was very sympathetic to the Plight of the Palestinian people, may he rest in peace and in haven.
My wife and I offer our deepest condolences and sympathies to his two sons Christian, and Fritz, and daughter Urlica, sister in law Barabra and nieces Gretchen and Adelhide.
