Dear Mrs. Lucci and Family,
Regret the lateness in this note of sympathy, but you and your Family have been in my thoughts and prayers since I first read the Obituary - and I have had pleasant thoughts of Abe. I really liked him. We bonded through the Knights of Columbus, me knowing several members of the Lucci Family and political campaigns where his very gracious 'means' of allowing me to ''drop by" the Morgan Shirt Factory always helped. He was fun, had a great sense of humor and could make me laugh and feel good. In sympathy,
Mike Buchanan

I am saddened by the loss of my long time friend and good buddy Abe. We started our friendship in 1966 when we bowled together in the Knights of Columbus League. Abe never knew a stranger and neither did I. He, of course, was much older than me... 25 yr.'s older to be exact but that never slowed us down one bit. I was 20 when I met Abe and he was 45. He ended up in the hospital 1 time and had back surgery. He knew I was a barber & somehow he had Liz call me and I went to the hospital and gave him a haircut. Long story short.. I then cut his hair all the way into his age at death 95. He also brought his son Timmy to me and I cut his hair many times even when he was in high school at St.Francis .. also my alma mater .
Abe and I never struggled to make conversation and as we both grew older he would clue me in on some of the things I would face with aging. I had a heart attack in 2007 at age 61. After my surgery and rehab he would tell me to "Just keep going and don't look back" Once Abe finally retired for good I would go to his house and give him a haircut and we would talk .We shared many many cups of coffee with a *shot of his private stock* added to it. Liz always had some biscotti's or cookies to go with it. When he & Liz left their home and moved to the apartment I continued to go to give my buddy his haircut but more to go and talk to this wonderful man who worked so hard his entire life for his family. He probably never realized how greatly I appreciated spending an hr. or so visit with him and Liz. She took such fantastic care of Abe and she & I would also talk there about what she was coping with and facing. Liz was as much of a saint to Abe as he was a saint to her. .He trusted me and I trusted him and we spoke of many personal things between us. I am so sorry that I never had a chance to come to the funeral home to pay my respects. Hopefully Liz and her children will understand why. I had just gotten over Pneumonia and was back to work just this week . I cannot get off work for a funeral unless it's in my family and I had just used 15 sick days with that Pneumonia. I will stop by soon Lis to see you . promise. R.I.P my great friend . I know you are in Heaven for sure! .
