I was greatly saddened to read of Brent's passing on our Bayside High School class page. Although I was not a close friend of Brent's, he was a joy to be around! With his great sense of humor and his unique laugh, he would always lighten up our algebra classes. It was because of him that I went to Bridgewater College the year after he started there. Because of him, I met my wife and we have 5 children and 9 grandchildren, a wonderful legacy! I was greatly heartened to read his obituary, a wonderful testimony to a life well lived! Please accept my condolences to all his family.

I had the great pleasure of working with Brent going back to my early career days at DOE in 1986. Regardless of the situation, the subject or with whom he was interacting Brent was always pleasant and respectful. He seemed to always try and find a win/win outcome and seemed most happy when he could leave others feeling that same way. I'm very saddened to hear this news, but thankful to have known Brent and like you I'm sure...his family & friends...feel fortunate to have shared a part of this life.

Looking at that picture of Brent gave me a major pang of missing my dear Homey Claus. Brent leaves a lot of holes in people's life in passing, mine for sure. I looked so forward to our daily chats and how it could go in a hundred different directions. But, that's how brothers who love each other are and he was my brother. Miss him every day and will never, ever forget him.

Dear Brenda,
When you called I was totally distraught. I met Brent in 1996 and went skiing with him and from that weekend on I admired him and also convinced him to work at Savannah River Site. He was a great friend and also became a good sailing buddy. He was so happy when he spoke of this neat lady Brenda. You were a great couple and I will miss him much.I was delighted to follow his career after SRS and enjoyed our visits with both of you. My sincere condolences to you dear Brenda and his entire family. He will be missed by all of us.
Very sincerely,
Mario and Susan

We are saddened by the passing of Mike. He and I spent many summers together on our grandparents' farm near McDowell. Sadly, we never kept in close touch after we left Bridgewater. But we really enjoyed visiting with you after my Mom's funeral in Covington in 2012. Our prayers are with you.

our hearts ached when we heard this sad news! what a loss for so many. Brent always had a way of making folks laugh--I recall his Elvis and Santa acts--once I got him a pair of red shoes at Gabes. although they were snug but he put then on anyway. guess that had something to do with Elvis? my mind isn't as good with remember details like that! we always look forward to his Christmas letter and was surprised when it arrived late this year. we had no idea he had been ill for so long. what does bring us joy is knowing that Brent had strong belief in God and Jesus our Savior. life for Brent has now changed for the better! praise God. we all will miss his humor, his smile, his bright outlook on life. Brenda and family, we are praying for y'all with much love! Marcia and Steve

Brenda and Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Brent's struggles with cancer, and send my love and condolences to each of you. I had the opportunity to work closely with Brent during his years with URS, and very much enjoyed working under his management. He was always supportive, enthusiastic, ethical, and pushed each person to reach further. I will always remember him with a smile and as one of my favorite managers. I will never forget when I asked him if we could hold a prayer session in our Research Ridge office for a dear colleague whose husband was struggling with cancer. His answer was "absolutely!" He was truly one of a kind.
With Love and Hugs,
Betty

Brenda,
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Brent and I went at each other for many years when I was with Teaming to Win. He frustrated me more than anyone has a right to. No matter what happened between us, he would always walk up, smile, shake my hand and say "Are we good?". That's why I always respected him. No matter what, it was never personal. If it was personal he was always your friend. He will be missed greatly. I pray time eases the pain, though it will never leave.
May God bless!
