Obituary of Sylvia Diane Kuehn
Sylvia Diane Kuehn, 99 of Evergreen Assisted Living in Morgantown died on June 2, 2017.
She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1917, the daughter of the late Izidor and Lena Warren.
Sylvia became a Registered Nurse in 1938 and married John in 1939. John went through several occupations over the following ten years until in 1950 they opened a restaurant in Teaneck, New Jersey, which they operated together for over 20 years. Rather than retire after the restaurant was sold, Sylvia and John worked as sales clerks at Macy’s for 15 years and later when John retired she worked as a pharmacy tech for several years. She finally retired in her middle 80’s.
She is survived by daughter, Marjorie Perry and husband Donald of Wyckoff, New Jersey and in Morgantown, her son John P Kuehn III (the professor and jeweler) and his wife Natalie; granddaughter Harri Joseph and husband Darren Taylor with two great-grandsons Ashur and Zion; and granddaughter Jessica Dunlevy and Robert Dunlevy with two great-grandsons, Lian and Keehn.
She was preceded in death by her six brothers and sisters over the last few decades and her husband John P. Kuehn Jr. in 2010.
The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Assisted Living in Morgantown for more than three years of tender loving care.
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted to provide cremation services. A ceremony will be announced at a later date.
