Dear John, Tom and Family,
I am sorry to learn of your loss. I enjoyed everything about your father - from patient/doctor, friend, professional, social and (Phi Psi) fraternal aspects. He was always such a pleasure to be with and talk to. His professional reputation was sterling and his presence was most pleasant and unpretentious.
My wife, Mary Anne, had the pleasure of treating with him - victim of post 'rear-end vehicle collision' - and after the first visit remarked how comfortable she felt with his care and what a "gentleman he was." The last phrase is highly revered in our family. In sympathy and prayers,
Mike and Mary Anne Buchanan

I have thought of my former boss often over the years and am saddened to learn of his passing. I enjoyed working with him and learned many things-much more than medicine. He was a gentleman and the best boss I have ever had. He would laugh when I called him 'an old goat.' He once called me at home because I was going to Florida and he wanted to make sure I was coming back. He would come to my little space every evening and thank me. I've never had a boss, before or since, do that. It meant a lot.
I will always remember him with respect and true affection. Condolences to his family and especially Emily, whom he adored.
