Obituary of Robert Harold Hess
Robert H. Hess, a longtime Morgantown resident, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2017, at the age of 87, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Before his passing, 'Bob' was surrounded by his two beloved daughters, Amber Hess and Rebekah Shaaya, and his nephew, Barry Porter. Robert is also survived by his brother, Richard Hess, of Fort Lauderdale, and his sister, Ruth Wilson (Hess) and his niece, Leslie Llanos, of Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita and second wife, Peggy, and his youngest brother, Jack Hess.
Bob was a skilled stone mason and long-time member of the West Virginia Bricklayers Union. He was honored by the National I.U.B.A.C., and worked to build the original WVU Hospital, along with setting stone on many downtown campus buildings.
Bob was always quick with a joke and a smile. He will surely be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
