Professor Cleckley was my favorite law school professor. He taught evidence as a visiting professor at Syracuse University College of Law, and I took his course. He was a brilliant lawyer and outstanding teacher. His energy was boundless and he always had a ready smile. He was also an extraordinarily good person. At his suggestion, I became a trial attorney instead of a tax attorney. He set me on that course, and I will always thank him for that and never forget him. I only learned of his death yesterday, and extend my sincere condolences to his family. I am sure you miss such a wonderful man dearly, but are comforted by the fact that you were able to spend so much time in his company. Best, John W. Cannavino

Your father taught me criminal law at the West Virginia police academy. Wonderful man that I've always respected and admired. Sorry for your loss.
P.s. Shannon I believe it was you that I helped chaperoned when you were in 6 th grade and we went to Washington DC with the school patrol. I was the Morgantown Police officer.
