Ed was not only known for his enormous contributions in Student Health but his work in occupational lung disease. When I came to WVU from Canada he was both an ever friendly face and a mentor. He offered to help me become a certified B-reader and, I believe, holds the record for most recertifications in this field of anyone in the world! Please know that one of Ed's many legacies lies with the many younger colleagues like me that he impacted both professionally and personally as a role model of what it means to be an academic physician. I feel very fortunate to have known him.
