Obituary of Jerry Sager

Jerry Sager passed away suddenly on November 19, 2017 at the age of 90 with family present in Morgantown. He was born February 11, 1927 in Rochester, New York to Georgianna and William Sager of Sea Breeze, NY.

A Naval veteran of WWII, Jerry served on a destroyer based out of Miami Beach, Florida and was honorably discharged in 1946. A graduate of Franklin High School in 1948, he married Joyce Stearns of Rochester. Jerry was employed by WHEC TV and WXXI TV and later worked as an electronic technician for Eastman Kodak in Rochester until his retirement. A love for the desert southwest compelled Jerry to reside in Prescott, Arizona for 25 years where he continued his avid participation in amateur radio. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League, the Yavapai Amateur radio Club and several other organizations.

A stalwart and devoted husband, father and friend, Jerry is survived by three children: Mark Sager and his wife, Tracey of Dansville, NY, Susan Baer and her husband, Michael of Churchville, NY, and Jack Sager and his wife, Renee of Morgantown; five grandchildren: Lindsay, Jenna, Ashley, Conrad, and Cassie.

His wife Joyce of 33 years and his brother, Jack, of Riverside, CA, preceded Jerry in death.
