Obituary of Jolene A. Liston
Jolene A. Liston, 63, of Morgantown, entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Sunday, April 29, 2018, in her home. She was born September 3, 1954, in McKeesport, PA, to her loving parents, the late Herbert Arnold and Betty Jean (Jackson) Wilson.
Jolene graduated from Bethel Park High School in Bethel Park, PA in 1972. She attended WVU in Morgantown, WV where she earned a degree in Physical Education. She loved music, dancing, golf, and whitewater rafting and vacationing on Anna Maria Island.
Jolene was best known for her delicious cooking, and took pride in hosting family gatherings during the holidays, particularly at Thanksgiving. Even though she may have grumbled about all the chaos at times, she truly loved having a full house of family and close friends playing games and spending quality time together.
Jolene worked for NCWV Senior Legal Aid for many years as a Legal Assistant. During her time at NCWV Senior Legal Aid, she helped thousands of people understand their legal rights. Jolene had a heart of gold both personally and professionally. Only her family knew of the countless times she would go the extra mile to help people with things both inside and outside of her work.
Most importantly, Jolene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She was the precious glue that keeps all families together. She is survived by her husband, Nelson Liston of Morgantown; children, N.R. Liston of Morgantown and Abby Liston Walters and her son Spencer Reed Clark both of Morgantown; stepchildren, Reggie Liston, Jennifer Smith and her children, Brandon Black and Chloe Smith of Bruceton Mills; siblings, Billy Wilson of Barkeyville, PA and Cheri Hanczar and her husband Lud; and nephew, Luddy Hanczar of Carnegie, PA.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Jeffrey Wilson, also precedes her in death.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, love, and generosity during this time. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Mon General Hospital and most recently WV Caring of Hospice for their kindness and attentive care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to WV Caring Hospice, PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
