Obituary of Dorothy Lee Simon
Dorothy Lee (Wotring) Simon, 91, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at her home. She was born January 17, 1927 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (Riley) Wotring.
Mrs. Simon was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Morgantown. She was a graduate of Gary High School and West Virginia University. She was a proud member of the social sorority Alpha Phi, was an avid Bridge player and WVU sports fan.
She is survived by her children, Shelley Simon, Sherry Kauff and her husband Stephen, and Stephen Simon and his wife Teresa; grandchildren, Kelley Kauff Ortiz and her husband Jose, Kasey Kauff, Tyler Kauff, Nicholas Wilson, and Michelle Deschenes-Mullen; great grandchildren, Eliana and Luke Ortiz, Caila Raisch, Caroline Mullen, Chainey Mullen, Xander Wilson, and Lilly Wilson; and sister, Jean Price.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wilbur T. Simon.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, June 29th from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Rev. Richard Hepler officiating. The committal service will be held at the WV National Cemetery in Taylor County, WV on Friday at 2 PM.
