Sometimes we are lucky enough to meet someone that you can immediately identify as “special” and that was Mrs. Wheeler for me. In a moment I knew that she was a caretaker and a mother for all of us. I knew that her door was open and her oven on for all of us in college and beyond. I can still see her smile and hear her laugh. I’m sure, now that’s she’s strong and comfortable, she’s smiling at all of us who were able to know her and cheering us on. Love to you all!

From the day Linda and Bob moved in next door, I became a member of the family. As Julie, Kristin and Beth came home from the hospital after being born, I was one of the first faces they saw.
Linda (and Bob) always treated me like their own son, through tough times and good times growing up, they helped shape me to be the man I am today.
Last year I got back to Morgantown and had the chance to see her again. Despite valiantly fighting her illness, she was still the warm and loving surrogate mother I remember.
All my love and best wishes to the family. Linda is in a better place and will always be in our hearts. JWW

When I was with Mrs. Wheeler I felt like I was home. She was the living embodiment of the word “comfort”.
A visit to the Wheeler home was always met with the promise of lively conversation, a delicious home cooked meal, a cozy blanket, a place to kick your feet up and catch a college game, and of course the excitement for the dessert that you knew would be coming out of her kitchen at any moment.
To me, Mrs. Wheeler was the kind of person who went quietly about her life, making things better for those around her, adults and children alike. She was a steady example of faith in action.
She was and will continue to be a role model for me as a woman, a mother, and a fellow nurse.
She was special and she will be missed dearly.
On behalf of my family and all of us who were fortunate and blessed to have known her, our most sincere condolences to the Wheeler family.

To the Family, so sorry for your loss. Im sure you don't remember me but Im the grandson of Jim and Bessie Lively that lived in the old barn on fish creek. I have very fawn memories of the camp as we called it. Mr. Ridicker,[ George] was always very pleasant to be around and would always give us wheat germ and ovalteen, which was a chocolate drink. We would get clay from the bank along the road and he would help us make little clay figurines and bowls. Me and my brother took a ride a few weeks back and went to look at the old barn. Not sure if you still own the place or not but would be interested in buying if you ever sell. Also would like to get permission to use my metal detector around the property. Im 69 and would be very respectful of the property and not leave any holes around the yard. If you would consider giving me permission you can reach me at the above email or call me at 1-740-472-0303. Thank you and may Linda Rest In Peace.

Dear Bob, Julie, Kristin, Beth, and Chris,
I am truly sad to learn of Linda's passing. She was, in every sense of the word, a very special woman ... as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a kind, generous, thoughtful individual shown through her devotion to her family and her many selfless endeavors and community contributions. Every spring when MHS starts its annual Strawberry Sale, I think of Linda and recall the major role that she played in helping start this successful fundraiser. It serves as only one of the many ways she impacted the programs and lives in Morgantown. I know her family will continue to follow her example as they have always done.
My sincerest condolences,
Gwen Rosenbluth

Linda was such a kind and loving person-even at a young age. My sister and I-Lou Ann, still remember when she had gotten her first job nursing....she took us to a movie and shopping and let us buy a stuffed animal-white cats. It was such a special day and special treat for us!
We also remember fondly how kind and thoughtful she was with our parents when they were older-she would always stop and visit and bring them some special zucchini bread or banana bread that she made-they loved her visits.
Linda was just so thoughtful.
It was not only our parents-but all of her aunts and uncles...
We were blessed to have her in our family. May she rest in peace.
Love,
Beth
