Obituary of Melissa Ann Emerson

Please share a memory of Melissa Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On the evening of December 15, 2018, God called His faithful servant and earth-bound angel, Melissa Ann (Tidrick) Emerson, home to be with Him. Melissa was born in Princeton, WV on July 23, 1950, daughter to the late Ralph and Phyllis Tidrick. She was a lifelong West Virginia resident that loved her West Virginia Hills, her Mountaineers and a good round of Country Roads. As a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church from her late teenage years, she served in numerous ministries. Music was one of her loves and poured over into the church as a perennial choir member. She also served as administrative assistant, altar guild, Daughters of the King, and vestry member. As a 30 years veteran of the USDA Forest Service, she leaves behind a hole that will be hard to fill. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roy. They were blessed to parent three daughters and one son; who, collectively, gave them 13 surviving grandchildren and one she's rocking in heaven. She is also survived by her brother, niece, cousins, brothers, sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father and husband's parents. Her legacy is her lasting example loving her faith, loving her family and loving her friends. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services have been provided by Hastings Funeral Home, Omega Crematory. Family and friends will be received at Trinity Episcopal Church, 247 Willey St., on Saturday, January 12 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Burial Office at 12 p.m. with Rev. Dr. E. F. Michael Morgan presiding. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers in memory of Melissa to Trinity Episcopal Church, 247 Willey Street, Morgantown, WV 26505.
