Obituary of Joshua Conner DeBarr
Joshua (Josh) Conners DeBarr, 37, of Morgantown, died Saturday, April 13, 2019, following a brief illness. The son of Kathie Conners Key and Thomas Key of Pence Springs, WV, and Greg DeBarr of Kingwood, he was born on Nov. 24, 1981, in Morgantown.
Since 2013, Josh was co-owner, with John Kennedy, of Pizza Al's on University Avenue in Morgantown. An avid sports fan, he especially followed the WVU Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He played several team sports as a youngster and young adult. He loved traveling and made a memorable trip to the West Coast with his daughter and his father a few summers ago. His visited his mother at her Summers County farm as often as possible, and many vacations were spent with his mother and relatives at the beach in Oak Island, NC. He also enjoyed attending many special events with his Preston County family.
Surviving are his daughter, Ava Layne DeBarr of Morgantown, a brother, Tyler C. DeBarr, wife Amanda and children Ashlynn and Colton of Reedsville, and grandparents, Archetta DeBarr of Howesville, Nancy R. Conners of Morgantown, and Robert B. and Karen Conners of Arthurdale.
Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and families including Lynne and Ted Kilkenny of Howesville, Lori and John Murphy of Palmyra, PA, Lynne and Doug Crane, Steve and Cindy Conners, and Robert B. Jr. and Tracy Conners, all of Morgantown, and Julie Randolph of King of Prussia, PA.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Eugene DeBarr.
Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of Josh's life will be held at a later date.
